Blog Post #22 - CANADA, A FRENCH COUNTRY?

Blog Post# 22

CANADA, A FRENCH COUNTRY ?

Nah, you say?
Canada is an English speaking majority country modeled after the British homeland.

Well, that's not quite what is being PRESENTED.

If you look at how
government officials, companies

and other Canadian entities
are delivering

“THE MESSAGE”
to the world
and to the Canadian people,
it would appear that there is an ever increasing effort to make it seem that Canada is indeed a French dominant country.

Or perhaps,
to plant the seed that
IT IS

FRENCH FIRST
AND
FRENCH DOMINANT

CHECK THIS OUT
Oh and, just a reminder
Canada is OVER 80% English speaking
----------------
 How the world sees
Major Canadian governmental
agencies

PSAC: Public service commission of Canada

CRTC

Canadian radio-television & Telecommunications commission

    Canadian Museum of History

 -------------------------
PUBLIC WORKS CANADA

Does it appear to you that
"the message"
is
Hey world...
Canada is an English country?

---------------
HOW ABOUT THIS

Have you heard Canada's national anthem lately?
This was a performance of the Canadian National Anthem prior to the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium
between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings

This is how a predominantly English / slash  /American viewing audience is being presented with
--- FRENCH --- CANADA
Nice!!

Here's how the French language is given precedence and how the English language is treated as an after thought in some areas in
EASTERN ONTARIO
NOTE: These FRENCH ONLY signs on stores, and schools, and public buildings
ARE NOT in the province of Quebec.

Public servants disrespectfully refusing to provide service in English to their constituents in the majority English province of Ontario

AGAIN,
this is NOT in the province of Quebec
THIS IS HAPPENING IN EASTERN ONTARIO

----------------------

Here's how New Brunswick is moving towards the future as far as FRENCHIFICATION goes

 NOTE: This woman says,
"IT MUST BE FRENCH FIRST"
as she clearly denounces "bilingualism"

*IMPORTANT*
THIS IS NOT
IN
THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC

Here are a few "public institutions" that don't seem to be content with simply being bilingual

They have gone the extra step and are
also pushing
 FRENCH FIRST
AND
 FRENCH DOMINANT

The University of Ottawa

The Montfort hospital

Then of course, the infamous
"stick it to the English speaking majority"
French accent
on the Liberal brand

Why should a "federal" brand that is supposed to represent the majority people actually be more representative of the tiny minority?

Rather insulting to the MAJORITY English speaking people in this country,
wouldn't you say?

THINK ABOUT IT

Disclaimer:
French as a secondary language in most applications OUTSIDE the province of Quebec
IS NOT an issue at all.
The "issue"' is the PUSH for Frenchification,
which includes French ONLY and French dominance
on signs and within institutions OUTSIDE the province of Quebec.
A province, if I may be so bold as to remind everyone,
whose leaders, for all intents and purposes,
have little problem treating the English language as a disease.

Blog post # 20 - BILINGUALISM IN CANADA... REALLY?

Blog post # 20 - BILINGUALISM IN CANADA... REALLY?

PLEASE SEE THE

VERY IMPORTANT

MESSAGE AT THE BOTTOM

OF THIS RANT

More Anti English rhetoric from the very people who  ---
(when they want service in French throughout the rest of Canada outside of the province of Quebec)

--- are the loudest and most vocal about how "Canada has two official languages."

A friend recently sent me the following news update headline.

--------------------

Quebec’s English school boards hire constitutional lawyer to fight plan to eliminate elections

http://montrealgazette.com/news/quebec/english-school-boards-hires-constitutional-lawyer-to-fight-plan-to-eliminate-elections

“We’re trying to send the message that we, the English-speaking community, are not to be taken for granted,” D’Aoust said in an interview Monday. “We have rights, some of which they have recognized, but you just cannot walk over those rights, you just cannot take them away.”

--------------------

Thanks once again for the info Eric.
It's good to see SOMEONE is fighting and standing up... FINALLY.

But folks,

what I find MOST annoyingly interesting and MOST TELLING about this article
is the fact that the writer { gvendeville@montrealgazette.com }
of a supposed English article in a supposed English newspaper includes the following section which also includes a link to some governmental "data from the education ministery."

----------------------------

"Bergman said abolishing school board elections would accelerate the decline in the number of anglophone students in Quebec. In 1971, there were 256,000 elementary and high school students studying in English. By 2013, there were 102,000, according to data from the education ministry."

----------------------------

And, for reasons unknown ---

but I would offer a guess that
it's part of the same ol same ol reminiscent cr@p
that can be found in examples like this ...

--- clicking on the link from the article just simply serves to remind us all of our old friend George Orwell's famous novel as ...
THE LINK

in this
English article
in this
English newspaper

takes the reader to
the

 -- French data --

that's right...

The link used in the English newspaper article turns out to be a link to the governments FRENCH data spread sheet info.

I looked around and yes, there is a
main English government page
{ http://www.mels.gouv.qc.ca/en/home/ }
but, I didn't bother with the effort to see if there is an exact English version of this particular document which the writer COULD HAVE / SHOULD HAVE used (if an English version actually DOES EXIST) and linked to that instead of to the French version in this English newspaper article.

Never mind why and how this happened, it is still indicative of the kinds of A-typical things that are done by those who are firmly planted in positions that can make a difference, as they push their "nationalistic agenda."

These kinds of things are also a clear testament as to WHY what is happening in Canada right now
* IS MUCH MORE SERIOUS *
and is NOT a fluffy little foray into the possibility that we could actually -- for real --  end up in a truly "fair" kind of bilingual country.

That is not to say that I wouldn't (if done fairly, equitably and with a true sense of respect) be in favor of a fairly constituted bilingual concept of Canada, however ...

The constant and VERY consistent negative actions on behalf of the FPTB make it

 PRETTY DARN OBVIOUS
that

-- fair and equatable --
IS NOT
THE SENTIMENT THAT EMANATES FROM THEIR SIDE OF THE FENCE

EXAMPLES INCLUDE

The French PTB
removing the Canadian flag from the national assembly in the province of Quebec

An action which obviously (as you see in the video) goes hand in hand with a complete and utter disrespect for Canada, the Queen and the institutions for which they are paid (in Canadian dollars) to serve in, in the first place.

The actions of the MLA's in this video also gives us all a STRONG indication of how intrenched this "French nationalism" really is.

Not having the Canadian flag present as they purposefully and disrespectfully mumble through the first part only to "pour it on" for the part that pledges their allegiance to Quebec.
 C'mon, really?
The rest of Canada is not supposed to notice?

 * Replacing the Canadian flag on Tim Horton's cups

with some snow flake looking symbol
Replacing the Canadian flag from the Labatt's Blue bottles

with some other "French nationalism looking symbol" or another (?!)

REALLY ?
What's wrong with Canada and the Canadian flag?

Ask yourself.
Does the average every day French person from Quebec have the power to have these companies do such things?

The answer is NO... Not directly anyway

Does the average everyday French person get turned off by the fact that the Canadian flag is missing on their products?

The answer is, probably not.

As a matter of fact, many average French people probably feel a sense of empowerment and French pride as a result of such goings on.

However, those who can AND DO make these companies comply with such regulations and product appearances in the province of Quebec are the GENUINE reasons why English speaking Canadians should be very wary of where "the power is" and what is really going on in this country.

What about Bill 101?

Here we have a law that diminishes the English language and makes French THE ONLY allowable LANGUAGE in a province that resides

-- INSIDE --
THE COUNTRY OF
CANADA

How can a majority people (the English) within a country (Canada) find themselves visiting (or living in for that matter) a part of their own country where their own majority language is deemed illegal (or, third class at best)?

Bill 101 is a law in the province of Quebec with the following clauses in it {sections 45 & 46 }

Clauses which  unequivocally state that
the people in Quebec DO NOT have to work in
ANY LANGUAGE
other than French
Makes life tough for English people who still live there for sure

The French PTB deem that
"bilingualism in the work place is a nuisance"
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?
"A NUISANCE?"
They want to
DO AWAY WITH BILINGUALISM
all together

As far as the French PTB are concerned
"BILINGUALISM IS DEATH"

How can we accept one part of Canada being
 FRENCH ONLY
while throughout the rest of Canada
(the English speakers)
are forced
 THROUGH FRENCH IMMERSION
AND FALSELY INJECTED FEARS OF LOST OPPORTUNITIES

into knowing French in order to appease those who wish to live, work and be accommodated in French ONLY?
REALLY ?
Could this really be happening?

Despite the FACT that Quebec is merely a province inside the country of Canada, the French citizens / workers
Otherwise known as -- "Canadian citizens"
 in the province of Quebec
DO NOT have to provide service in English TO ANYONE.  They are also legally protected in NOT DOING SO by their own laws and their own "provincial" government.

If that wasn't bad enough, we then see many examples of how the the French PTB badger everyone else into speaking in French back to them, both INSIDE the province of Quebec ...
"he should either speak French,
or they should FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT."
And everywhere else where they gain any sort of foothold.

YIKES...

On and on it goes...

I ponder openly... Who appears as the fools in all of this?

Given the insurmountable evidence showing how the French PTB treat the English speaking people, are those English speaking Canadians really so numbingly easily programmed, and so placidly naive as to believe that the French PTB actually want equality and
-- a true version of "bilingualism?" --

Do the English speaking people really  believe that the French PTB want the English language and English speaking people to even exist (other than in a secondary role) at the end of this so called...

QUEST TO MAKE CANADA
A
"BILINGUAL COUNTRY"
FROM COAST TO COAST

C'mon... WE CAN CLEARLY SEE

what the FPTB have done, and are doing...

-- They are doing everything they can to abolish English schools in the province of Quebec.
-- They have segregated busing for school kids in many areas.
-- They have forced the English speaking people to leave the province of Quebec
-- They are now forcing the English speaking people to leave New Brunswick in droves as well.

These English speaking people then scurry off to some other temporary "English bastion" within other provinces only to one day, not too long into the future, find that the French PTB have followed them to those other provinces and are now demanding to be able to live, work and be accommodated completely IN FRENCH ONLY in those other provinces as well.

Or as they put it,
Je reve Ottawa
"I Dream of Ottawa"

Think about this people...

REALLY THINK...

Doesn't it seem obvious that ...

One side is playing chess while the other side is playing checkers.

Doesn't it seem like it's time to
 --- WAKE UP ---
and realize the ramifications of all of this
---------------------------
Drawing an equitable line in the sand
IS NOT "ANTI FRENCH" OR "ANTI ANYTHING"

It is simply standing up for
YOUR RIGHTS
(you do have rights)
DON'T let them be trampled on

Stand up for yourself, your family & your country

It's OK to
-- PUSH FOR FAIRNESS --

There is nothing wrong with French on signs etc
but
THERE IS indeed SOMETHING
VERY DISTASTEFUL
within the incessant push for French to be
DOMINANT
IN A MAJORITY ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY

Blog post #19 - FRANCO FLAGS (& MONUMENTS)

Blog post #19 - FRANCO FLAGS (& MONUMENTS)

Franco flag at Montfort hospital - Ottawa east

Notice the blue (hospital sign)
at this ONTARIO hospital which
appears with French first.

I urge -- ALL OF YOU -- to note what is going on in many areas in eastern Ontario (as well as "many areas" of Canada proper).

----------------------

This section of an April 2008 article is a good example
of what to look for.

Pay special attention to the specific wording in this article which appeals for funding to ---

RAISE "A GIANT" FRANCO-ONTARIAN FLAG IN CASSELMAN
-------------------------------

$50,000 sought to raise giant Franco-Ontarian flag in Casselman

– A fundraising campaign to erect a 15- by-30-foot version of the green and white Franco-Ontarian flag at the top of an 80-foot flag pole in the Village of Casselman.

-------------------------------
Billed as
"A GIANT FRANCO-ONTARIAN SYMBOL”
-------------------------------

organizers say the $50,000 project is
"designed to make the flag clearly visible to the 30,000-plus vehicles which drive past Casselman on Highway 417 on a daily basis."

-------------------------------

There are presently several of these 15-by-30- foot green and white Franco-Ontarian "symbols"  sitting atop their 80-foot flag poles which are clearly visible to the thousands of drivers who travel east and west on highway 417 through the heart of Ottawa (the capital city of Canada).

A highway, it bears reminding everyone, that used to be called "Kings Highway" or more aptly "the Queensway."

These "giant Franco-Ontarian symbols" are purposely made HUGE so they can be clearly visible by the thousands of people who use that main highway.

"GIANT FRANCO-ONTARIAN SYMBOLS" which are omnipresent along the main highway traveling through the capital city of Canada as well as one of these HUGE Franco flags adorning the entrance to Ottawa's namesake university... The university of Ottawa..

Visible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year.

Franco-flag - 417 @ Lees Ave

Franco-flag 417 @ St Laurent

What kind of "message" DO YOU think is being attempted with this?

Could this be a rather poignant
"IN YOUR FACE"
method to display
French domination within Canada's capital?

The French PTB DO NOT believe that it is even remotely provocative to request / demand to have their Franco-Ontarian flag flown at Ottawa city hall to celebrate Franco-Ontarian day ...

yet, when a man from the Anglo society in New Brunswick wanted to fly one single Anglo flag for JUST ONE DAY at the city hall in New Brunswick (not even the nations capital)...
He was told, "NO."
He was told this would be regarded as provocative and he was also met with THIS response from some among the French speaking clan
"It would be an insult"

Funny how it is only "provocative" and is only generally viewed as "an insult" by one side of this equation.

This either stems from a sense of downright arrogance (which is likely) or, just simply a lack of appreciation for -- the shoe on the other foot -- kind of concept.

It is also worth noting that many of the organizations who donate funds for the erection of these HUGE "Franco" flags and monuments are typically organizations that operate in Ontario and depend, to a large degree, on the majority of English speaking customers for their financial gain, yet they specifically and often -- ONLY -- support  French causes and issues like these.

In other words they are using the money they make from the English speaking majority in the communities where they set up shop in order to promote and flaunt mostly French causes in those same communities.

French ONLY school names

In the bigger picture of all this, it would appear that this is but one example of how "THE FRENCH POWERS THAT BE" are taking over many small Ontario communities, planting their Franco flags to show they have "captured that area" then, turning around and gradually doing away with "bilingualism" while they promote the French language into being
the dominant language in those areas.

French ONLY store names

This "desire" for French to be dominant and or exclusive can also be seen in the attitude of many of the local counsel members

and also, in some of the local laws being pushed for, and passed as well.

There are even areas in eastern Ontario ---

--- where the FPTB insist on segregated school buses.

That's right, In order to be sure that their French speaking kids DO NOT MIX with the English speaking kids.
Yup...SEGREGATION IN 2015?
Is this not sheer insanity?
In light of this kind of French dominant bravado and these hostile actions against the English language here in Ontario ---

(not to mention what we have already seen throughout the past several years in the province of Quebec)

--- it would seem that the French PTB are on a crusade to put the French language in a dominant position while diminishing the English language all together.

And thus, you MUST ask yourself...

WE MUST ALL ASK OURSELVES
------------------------

When we consider these types of French ONLY and French dominant tactics, it would seem that the French PTB are not really interested in “living together in peace and harmony" with the English language present in any form at all in any parts of Canada.

What we are actually seeing is ...

A push by the French powers that be to have the French language be the dominant language as they "pretend" to seek bilingualism in order to reach their goal without opposition.

If you play poker with people who cheat and do not play by the rules you have no choice but to ...

"ADJUST ACCORDINGLY."
